Important safety notice for waist bags in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of waist bags (leather, synthetic, textile; around the waist, crossbody, with adjustable strap and quick-release buckle, with zipper/magnet/clip, with internal compartments, chain elements, and reflective details). Since they may contain small, metal or magnetic parts, long straps, and hard buckles, and may increase pressure on the waist/hips when overloaded, please follow the instructions below.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Buckles, carabiners, zipper pulls, magnets, and small accessories pose a choking/inhalation hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Check before use: Inspect seams, strap, length adjuster, quick-release buckle, zippers, and magnets; replace cracked, loose, or rusted parts.
• Sharp/metal parts: Fittings and zippers may have sharp edges; be careful when closing to avoid skin and clothing damage.
• Magnetic parts: Keep away from payment cards and sensitive electronics; persons with implanted devices should maintain a safe distance from strong magnets.
• Fire and heat: Most materials are flammable or heat-sensitive; avoid open flames and hot surfaces.

Proper and safe use

• Adjustment and tightening: Adjust the strap so the waist bag holds securely but does not restrict breathing or blood circulation; secure the quick-release buckle and tuck in the excess strap.
• Load and weight distribution: Do not overload; place heavier items closer to the body and centered to reduce swinging and pressure on the lower back.
• Catching and movement: On escalators, bicycles, scooters, and when working with machinery, prevent loose strap ends from hanging; choose a low-profile position during sports.
• Wearing across chest/back: Adjust the position so buckles and hard parts do not press into ribs or spine; loosen tightening during prolonged sitting.
• Seat belts and vehicle guidance: Position so that fittings do not interfere with the seat belt or cause excessive pressure.
• Purpose: The waist bag is not a child carrier, harness, safety device, or PPE; do not use for lifting loads.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Leather: Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth, condition regularly; protect patent leather from heat and prolonged contact with plastics.
• Textile/synthetic: Clean according to the label; aggressive cleaners may damage the surface, print, or glued joints.
• Zippers/fittings: After contact with salt water/sweat, wipe dry to prevent corrosion and clothing discoloration.
• Storage: Store in a dry and dark place, ideally in a breathable bag; do not hang long-term by a single point (strap deformation), protect from moisture.

Specific health warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel in fittings), dyes, and leather agents may cause reactions; if redness or itching occurs, limit contact or choose hypoallergenic fittings.
• Pressure and posture: Prolonged pressure in the waist/lower back area may cause discomfort; alternate positions (waist, hip, crossbody) and adjust tightening.

Disposal

• Sorted waste and textile collection: Hand over textile/leather parts to textile collection or reuse; separate metal and magnetic parts if possible. If the waist bag contains electronics (LED/power bank), dispose of according to electronic waste regulations.

Incidents and contact

• In case of an incident (strap caught, skin reaction, injury from sharp fittings), stop using the product immediately. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
